Blayze Romero
Assistant Baseball Coach

Coach Blayze Romero is entering his 3rd year as an assistant baseball coach at NISH. Coach Romero currently serves as the Yellow Jackets pitching coordinator, as well as the team’s outfield and catchers coach. Coach Romero’s pitching staff helped the Yellow Jackets achieve a 23-16 overall record with a quarterfinals appearance in 2021. The 2021 Yellow Jackets pitching staff was able to record 242 Strikeouts on 249 innings pitched and a overall team ERA of 3.3. Coach Romero was previously the head baseball coach at Patterson High School with two LHSAA playoff appearances. In his last season at Patterson High School, Coach Romero lead the Lumberjacks to an 18-14 record. Coach Romero is grateful and excited to be able to be a part of the NISH baseball coaching staff.

Coach Romero is a 2009 graduate of NISH where he played 4 years of NISH baseball. During his time as a player, Coach Romero was a part of two district championships and three playoff appearances. Coach Romero graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology - Health and Physical Education. Coach Romero is married to Kristian Romero, who is a Math teacher and the Cheerleading coach at NISH. Together, they are proud parents of their son Riggins Paul Romero (4), Cimee Rae Romero (2) and have a baby #3 on the way due in April 2022.
